Andrew Johnson
Andrew Johnson is a career special education teacher in Los Angeles with more than 25 years in public-school classrooms. He works with students who have ADHD, autism, specific learning disabilities, and other learning needs — and with the parents who are trying to help those students start, stay, and finish without making medicine the whole plan.
How to Focus with ADHD without Medicine
How to Focus with ADHD without Medicine is the field manual from that work. The Executive Function Edition names the skill under each conversation: self-awareness, planning, inhibition, emotional control, initiation, time, working memory, and self-monitoring. The method is simple to say and hard to practice. Train the manager. Then give it room to work.
Andrew is a husband and father of three. He skis with his son, trains in martial arts, and spends as much time outside as the school year allows. His faith is central to how he works and how he writes. It is offered in the book the same way it is offered here. It is not required to use the method.
